DAY 1
NEWS FLASH: 16U UPDATE DATELINE: TUESDAY 10 PM The 2009 16u Fletcher Baseball Championships are off to a fantastic beginning . . . mother nature cooperated as all games were completed without precipitation delaying our schedule . . . which is a welcome change from last year . . . now if it will only continue to stay that way!!! The 16u Age Division is topped on Day 1 by a pair of 2 game winners today in the 16u BigStix Gamers of Georgia & the 16u Johnny Mac Thunder of Missouri . . . BigStix downed the Texas Heat 6-1 & the Florida Bombers Blue Sox 11-1, while Johnny Mac had a much more difficult time of it winning each of their games by a 2-run margin, defeating the Puerto Rico Braves 9-7 & the Tampa Bay Angels 12-10 . . . Other Winners today included the Puerto Rico Astros, who defeated the Florida Bombers Blue Sox 5-4, and the Titans Baseball team of Florida blasted the Jacksonville Blue Heat of Florida 13-8 . . .
Wednesday action will find the undefeated BigStix Gamers & Puerto Rico Astros going head-to-head at 4:15pm at the Naimoli Complex on Field #1, with a full slate of games scheduled for the 16u teams beginning at 10:45am . . . With 2 days of Pool Play left the seedings are still wide open but continuing to be undefeated on Day 2 almost guarantees a berth in the Championship Playoff Bracket . . . see everyone at the fields!!!
