DAY 1
NEWS FLASH: 18U UPDATE DATELINE: TUESDAY 10 PM
The 2009 18u Fletcher Baseball Championships are off to a fantastic beginning . . . mother nature cooperated as all games were completed without precipitation delaying our schedule . . . which is a welcome change from last year . . . now if it will only continue to stay that way!!! The 18u Age Division is topped on Day 1 by the Ohio Glaciers who managed to stay undefeated with an 8-1 victory over the 18u Johnny Mac Thumder of Missouri and a 4-4 tie with the Falcons Baseball Club of Florida . . . Other 1-win teams include the Seminole Baseball Club of Florida, who shut-out the American National Eagles of Missouri 10-0 . . . the West Florida Outlaws shot down the Strike One Sidewinders of Georgia by a 4-1 tally . . . The Del Ray Beach Mudhens overcame the Georgia Eagles by a 7-2 margin . . . TSA of Illinois held off the West Florida Hurricanes with a 4-2 victory . . . and in what many felt was a stunning victory the South Florida Snappers defeated the 18u BigStix Gamers of Georgia 5-3 . . . The Falcons Baseball Club remained among the undefeated teams with their 4-4 tie against the Ohio Glaciers . . . and the Georgia Eagles managed a 2 game 1-1 split by eeking out a 2-1 victory over the American National Eagles . . .
Wednesday action will find the undefeated 1-win teams of Del Ray Beach & TSA going head-to-head at 1:30pm at the Naimoli Complex on Field #3, with a full slate of games scheduled for the 18u teams beginning at 8:00am . . . With 2 days of Pool Play left the seedings are still wide open but continuing to be undefeated on Day 2 almost guarantees a berth in the Championship Playoff Bracket . . . see everyone at the fields!!!
