NEWS FLASH: 18U UPDATE DATELINE: FRIDAY 9 PM
Day 4 began the Championship & Silver Bracket play competitions with all the teams having been seeded from their initial 3 days of Pool play . . . Every day of the tournament has had rain in the forecast but it wasn't until noon of Day 4 that weather became an issue on the fields . . . and even then it wasn't rain, rather it was lightning . . . The games were lightning-delayed by roughly an hour but they were able to be completed in full & the light drizzle that was received actually helped settle the dry clay infields . . . The competition was fierce with the main theme seeming to be "only the strong survive" . . . the better pitchers were put on the mound today & for many teams runs were hard to come by . . . Speaking of being stingy with runs, the Seminole Baseball Club continued to remain undefeated in both Pool and Bracket play and now boasts a team ERA for the tournament of 0.67 . . . highly impressive . . . 6 games played and only 4 total runs given up . . . is there a dome game in their near future . . . only time will tell . . . Teams eliminated today included the Georgia Eagles, GA, from the FBC Silver Bracket play & the Falcons Baseball Club, FL, from the FBC Championship Bracket play . . . As a side note, all 4:15pm games for Day 4 were rescheduled to be played at 8:00am on Saturday, so look for more results than normal tomorrow!!!
