The following indicates the list of most commonly asked questions to our front desk, club employees and others around the club.

1.) Do you have a website?

Yes, the web address is www.sbpd.org

2.) How do I sign up for a class?

First you must fill out the registration form. There is one posted on our web site. You can print it out and fax it to us at 847-381-2824 or you can mail it in to: 3 Tennis Club Lane

3.) How do I sign up for orientation?

First you must fill out the registration form. There is one posted on our web site. Then you must sign the waiver. Third, you must pay for the class. Orientation is $29 for 6-10 yr. olds and $39 for 11 – 14 yr. olds.

4.) Can you send me some information?

First, if you have access to the internet which you do if you are looking at this online, you can see all of our information is posted at www.sbpd.org, If you are viewing this on a print out, you may reuest information at 847-381-7515

Secondly, if you have an email address, we can send you info to that address. Request info at info@sbpd.org

If you do not have access to email or the internet, we would be glad to send you some information. Let us know your name, address, city, state and zip.

5.) If you call on the phone and ask to talk to someone in the Fitness Center, clarify adult or child?

We have an adult fitness center and The Fitness Zone, our fitness center for kids.

6.) Do I have to take orientation before taking a class?

NO. However, we believe learning the basics of health and fitness will be very beneficial to the child and will go a long way toward educating them on things like how to use the equipment, what the do’ and don’ts are and how to exercise in a safe and productive manner.

7.) How old do you have to be to use the Fitness Zone?

They start at age 6 and go until they are 14. After that they can use the adult fitness center.

8.) What is the Fitness Zone?

The fitness zone is our health and wellness center for kids. It is designed to improve your child’s general health and conditioning. It is staffed with certified training professionals who are there to teach and supervise the Zone’s activities and programs.

9.) Can I bring a friend?

Yes, we do have 1 day guest passes available. However, their visit must be supervised and may only last up to one hour per day. The cost per guest is $4.00 per child. Only two guest per visit.
Only one visit per 60 days. Maximum of 3 visits per same guest within any 6 month period.

10.) If I am not a member, can I use the Fitness Zone?

Yes, there are three options that allow you to use the Fitness Zone.
1. Sign up for and attend the Orientation Program.
2. Sign up for and attend any of the classes available
3. Purchase a 10 visit pass.

11.) If I am just taking a class, do I need to go through orientation?

No, because each class is supervised, the children will receive appropriate instruction during the class. The orientation is required for those who wish to use the Fitness Zone as a place to work out when they are not being supervised in a controlled class setting.


12.) What paperwork must be filled out prior to using the Fitness Zone?

1. A Waiver signed by the Parent must be on file.
2. A Certificate of Achievement must be obtained from attending an orientation.
3. If attending a class, a registration form must be filled out and payment must be made. SBC members may charge to their house accounts.

13.) How do I register my child for a class?

You can fill out the back of the blue flyers or you may download the registration form from the website at www.sbpd.org and fax it or mail it to the South Barrington Park District.

14.) If I drop off my child for an hour of working out, is he/she confined to the Fitness Zone or may he/she roam the club?

Our club policy is 10 years and up on a SBC Junior Membership may use all facilities. If you wish to
keep your child who is 10 years old or older secure within the confines of The Fitness Zone,
please inform our staff when dropping them off. All children under 10 or on a Fitness Only pass will remain in the Fitness Zone until they are picked up. Please limit visits to no more than 90 minutes.

15.) How much does it cost to join the Fitness Zone?

We have several options to best fit your situation.
FREE to those children who are a part of a SBC Family Membership
10 visit pass - $30.00
Junior Membership - $36 (R) / $40.50 (NR)
Fitness Zone Only –$65 for 3 months

Orientation Class $29/$39 – This is a pre-requisite to those wanting to work out in the Fitness Zone
